The Gumnut Awards is a major initiative of the Caravan & Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA).
A progressive rating scheme for parks, the Awards will recognise demonstrated commitment to sustainable
environmental and socially responsible management. The Award scheme is a vital component of the park
industry's policy to ensure that we are part of the environmental solution rather than part of the problem.
The policy, which recognises the vital role played by park management in the social fabric of the community,
has been introduced to benefit everyone involved in the successful operation of a park. Park visitors,
holiday makers residents, staff, the community and the environment will all be winners.
Inspired by the successful David Bellamy Conservation Awards for parks in the UK, the Gumnut Awards are
designed to foster the unique Australian environment and way of life.
